Mr. Pilato is a high energy and detail oriented attorney with over 20 years of experience in either prosecuting criminal offenses or engaging in criminal defense work; in implementing problem prevention programs; and in becoming a litigation or trial specialist. He has made the field of criminal law his specialty by obtaining extensive experience on both sides of the aisle. Beginning his legal career as a prosecutor, he quickly rose up the ranks so as to become the leading trial attorney in his office and so as to also gain invaluable insight into the attitudes and procedures being utilized by law enforcement agencies and officers. As a prosecutor, Mr. Pilato achieved a 95% conviction rate, and the duties included heading the homicide bureau, the career criminal bureau, and the special investigations bureau (which was responsible for all major or high profile matters). His cases included over thirty homicide trials, a variety of organized crime situations, violent sexual offenses, bank robberies, home invasion matters, etc.

After working as a prosecutor and gaining valuable insight into how cases are prosecuted, Mr. Pilato then shifted gears into criminal defense and for over 15 years has been a polished criminal defense attorney, handling all types of criminal matters in local, state and federal courts, ranging from homicides and robberies to significant misdemeanor matters.

Mr. Pilato is extremely comfortable in the courtroom fighting for his clients before judges and juries. He has engaged in well over 300 jury trials, he also knows that the two pre-requisites for a favorable end result are establishing a trusting relationship with his client and then conducting a thorough and exhaustive investigation. That is why he takes whatever time is necessary to know both the client and the agencies or officers that have begun the proceedings against the client. His successes have resulted in Mr. Pilato being cited in Marquis Who’s Who In American Law on multiple occasions, and he has achieved an astounding 75% rate of acquittal or dismissal for charges lodged against his clients.
