Criminal Lawyer Bryan Stephenson

Bryan Stephenson

Attorney, Of Counsel

Criminal Lawyer Stephenson is a skillful attorney, professor, and family man. Lawyer Stephenson has conducted hundreds of court proceedings, including hearings, trials (both jury and bench), and various motions and appeals. As a criminal lawyer, Stephenson is very familiar with "the system," and how to provide the best defense. His legal skills and knowledge are also put to use in his position as adjunct professor for Lipscomb University's Law, Justice, and Society program.

Prior to opening his own law practice, criminal lawyer Stephenson worked "on the other side" as an Assistant District Attorney for over three years. While a prosecutor, he was in court nearly every day, and dealt with most every type of crime that exists--everything from Felony Murder, Aggravated Robbery, all levels of felony Drug Offenses, Theft, DUI, Forgery, Burglary, Assault, Sexual Assault, down to Simple Possession of Drugs, Driving on a Suspended License, Public Intoxication, Disorderly Conduct, and many other types of cases. He was a supervisor for the Wiretap Room during investigations by the Drug Task Force. He worked in close connection with the United States Attorney's Office to transfer State gun and drug cases to the Federal government, and primarily handled high-level drug and gun prosecutions. As a prosecutor, he learned the "ins" and "outs" of how the government prosecutes crimes, and how the overall system works (and in many ways, how it doesn't work). Criminal lawyer Stephenson's knowledge and experience from working as a prosecutor helped him lay a strong foundation for starting his own defense firm, given his unique background. Attorney Stephenson moved from the prosecution side to the defense side with the goal of "fighting for the little guy" and representing those being accused or investigated by the government. He believes that criminal defendants all too often don't have a voice to speak on their behalf. His job as a criminal lawyer is to be that voice for you.

Criminal lawyer Stephenson graduated with his law degree, Order of the Barristers, from Pepperdine University School of Law in Malibu, California. While in law school he was selected to serve on the Pepperdine Law Review and was the school's delegate to various moot court competitions across the country. Even as a student, he had the heart of a teacher, and worked as a Teaching Assistant, instructing new law students on Legal Research and Writing. He deeply values his time spent at Pepperdine and frequently misses the weather of southern California, but knew he would return to his native state to practice law.

Criminal lawyer Stephenson graduated with a degree in Mathematics from Lipscomb University. He gained the honor of being named an AP Exam Scholar, earning an entire year of college credit upon entry to Lipscomb. He is also very dedicated to his wife and child.
